Brothers

Brothers are the most valuable blessing God has given me. My brothers understand me. Even though they seem like they're being mean when they're telling me what to do, I always know they have the best in mind for me. My brothers and I have gone though EVERYTHING together! Brothers are like Gods way of giving me two friends that give me advice and are always there for me. God must have known I needed brothers. Even though boys aren't that dramatic it's a good thing for me. It gives me a different perspective on life. My brothers help me to look at the big picture instead of thinking my life is over. They help me choose to AFFILIATE with at school. Both of my brothers have qualities in them that I look up to. They're both so different and so unique but still so similar. I have learned to reply on my brothers so much for everything. I look to them for advice in every aspect of my life. I feel like I can talk to them about anything and they won't judge me, but understand what it's like to be me. They show me skills and have have patience with me to pick up the skills. Even though I might be annoying to them sometimes or they might be annoying to me, they will always be family. With one of my brothers away at college, I have been learning not take any time I have with my other brother for advantage. Without my brothers I would not be who I am today.

Finding your identity

Have you ever heard anyone say "Your teenage years are all about finding your true identity." Well I know I sure have! Being a teenager is when you first begin to make decisions and have opinions of your own. Creating your own identity is so difficult when you know so little about the world. People try to identify themselves by the amount of things they have, or the kinds of friends they have. Your identity shouldn't be found in other people or things. We often are tempted to become (incognito) and disguise ourselves as someone else. Having the latest IPhone or the newest car can make you a "cool" person for a little while, but after a while the thrill wears away. Identifying yourself with things can make you a very discontented person. If you find your value in the newest thing, you will always be searching for the best thing to make you a better person. Finding your worth in God is one of the most important things to do in a Christians life. Once you can be pleased in what God has given you and how He has made you, you can become content. Contentment is something people search for their whole lives for, and never find it. Once you stop looking for contentment and face your eyes upon Jesus, you will thirst no more for the things of this world.

Finding Contentment

The world is trying to tell us that you need to be "beautiful" and wealthy to "fit in". When in fact, God made everyone perfect. Have you ever noticed that when you are watching tv or reading magazines it seems as though all of the commercials are telling you how to look or how to be succesful if you buy their product? When was the last time an advertisment promised that you would be happier and more successful, and they actually delivered? The people who are most raised up in our society are the beautiful, wealthy people. You can live in the biggest house and have a lot much money and still be empty inside. The biggest problem in America is finding contentment in God and not in things. Things of this world loose their shine and beauty but God is never changing. John Piper once said, "God is most glorified in us, when we are most satisfied in Him." Finding contentment in God alone is such an important part of the Christian life. When you try to run after things you begin to lose hope. Once you start chasing after God, you begin to find meaning and value in your life. You become more of a vivacious person. The world offers contentment but always leaves us empty, God offers love and peace with what you have and always delivers. Learning where to seach for contentment is something most people spend there whole lives doing. God shows us that we can look to him and he will satisfy our every need.
